Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ ~ Questions I get asked…a lot!

hawaii wedding, hawaii wedding photographer, bride, groom

What is Your Pricing?

I don’t publish my pricing online, collections start at $1500 and weʻre happy to customize a collection that suits your needs. As many of our couples choose to fly to Hawaiʻi for their wedding, we’re also available to document your family outings, rehearsal dinner, or any other soiree you may have during your stay on our amazing Hawaiian islands.

Do You Travel?

Absolutely, based on Maui and Oahu I’m asked to travel to Kauai, Hawaii (Big Island), Lanai often and have photographed weddings in New York City, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles and San Diego. If you’re looking to have your wedding outside of Oahu or Maui, there are travel fees involved such as air fare, hotel, car rental and some meals. In general, we arrive two days before your event and will leave the day after. Just depends on the time zones in which are are traveling to.

What Kind of Equipment do You Have?

I photograph with Canon gear and equipment. From the Canon 5d Mark iii and L Series Lenses. I love my 70-200mm IS L,  85 1.8mm USM and 50mm. Being afine art photographer, Iʻm a film shooter as well. I use the Pentax 645 system and my favorite film is Fuji 400h. Some clients just love the way film looks that you can not get with digital. I promise I have more in my bag, prepared for almost any situation.

Do You Work with a Second Shooter?

When you book me as your photographer, I am the one showing up on your wedding day to photograph your day. I do bring an assistant with me to each wedding and they help me with lighting, carrying equipment, wrangling guests for family formals and making sure I don’t fall into those pesky holes kids dig at the beach. Yes, I have fallen into them! Sometimes couples who are having a large wedding have the need for a second photographer which, I totally understand. Please let me know when you inquire that you’re interested in having a second shooter in addition to an assistant so I may quote you accordingly.

How Many Images Will I Receive?

Depending on your coverage, I average about 500 images per wedding. It all depends on how much coverage you receive and how your day unfolds.

How long does it take for me to receive my images?

It takes about four to six weeks for your images to be ready and uploaded to the web gallery. If you need images for thank you cards, we can provide  a few for you. We offer cards through and and are happy to help you with them.

Do You Edit Your Images?

Yes, all images go though a hand selected process and are edited. I’ll go over each image again, selecting a handful with some extra attention to them (that is why it takes 4-6 weeks). If your collection comes with an album, all images are crafted for printing. Blemishes removed, hairs fixed etc.

Do I Receive the Hi-Res Files?

Yes. The images that appear in your gallery will be provided on a USB or DVD with a letter of consent allowing you to print at a lab of your choice for personal use. The web gallery includes print and product offerings and when you order prints from us, we guarantee their quality and color.

Can I Receive the RAW Files?

RAW images are not available to viewing or for purchase. Part of the reason you hire us, is that we process them (the RAW FILES) into beautiful images that you trust us to create.

How Long Will it Take to Receive Our Album?

After images are uploaded to your online gallery, you’ll receive a spread sheet (I promise to send instructions!) in which you’ll pick out your favorite images and then we’ll design your album. Our goal is to design not just a picture book but, a book that tells the story of your wedding day for you to cherish it for years to come. With that said, it’s up to you to choose your images and get them back to us. It does take about six to eight weeks for your book to be shipped to us and then delivered to you.

What is the Online Gallery?

Once your images are ready, they’ll be uploaded to password protected area on my website where you’ll be able view and share your images with family and friends. Just be sure to provide the link and password it it. I
